Presentation Apron Style #720, also made in White cotton gabardine fabric, with Blue Suede piping will finish the look.

About Ben Pollinger

Executive Chef Ben Pollinger leads New York City’s Oceana with a distinctive style of cooking that artfully blends the finest seafood with the best ingredients from a global pantry. His creations express a dedication to seasonal products and classic technique with a vast array of flavor profiles.

“My goal is to intrigue our guests’ palates with the incredible nuances in seafood,” he says. “I cook every dish with that idea in mind, catering to those bright and fresh flavors.”

In addition to maintaining Oceana’s Michelin star for four consecutive years, Pollinger has received outstanding reviews from the New York Post’s Steve Cuozzo and Crain’s Gael Greene. In his three-star review, former The New York Times critic Frank Bruni called Pollinger’s cooking “an exhilarating voyage,” and in 2009, Sam Sifton of The New York Times named his Whole Curried Fried Pink Snapper one of the top 11 dishes of the year. Pollinger and his work have also been featured on programs like “The Today Show”; ABC News “Chef’s Table”, and Esquire named him a rising star chef.

A native of New Jersey, Pollinger graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, as class valedictorian and moved to Monte Carlo to work at the world-renowned Le Louis XV under Chef Alain Ducasse. Upon returning to New York, Pollinger worked for Chef Christian Delouvrier at Les Celebrites and Lespinasse. He spent more than seven years expanding his repertoire with Chef Michael Romano at Union Square Café and Chef Floyd Cardoz at Tabla. Throughout his early career, he developed his particular passion for seafood, intrigued by the broad variety of possibilities and the challenge of preparing delicate ingredients with subtlety and aplomb.

Through his work and extensive travels in France, Italy, and Spain, Pollinger has deepened his appreciation for seasonal ingredients and regional flavors. He gained a profound respect for the complexities that go into creating a stellar dish: the devotion of farmers to the soil and the fishermen to their day’s catch; the thoughtful application of precise techniques to pure ingredients; and the exchange between chefs and the diners they host. As an avid gardener, Pollinger also finds inspiration for his 500-sqaure-foot organic garden at home in New Jersey, which often provides the herbs and spices that flavor his menus for Oceana. When he joined Oceana as executive chef in 2006, he brought with him the skills and desire to create an extraordinary dining experience based on this philosophy. Coupled with his kitchen leadership, Pollinger reflects the Livanos family’s commitment to professionalism and excellence in hospitality.

Pollinger, a father of three children, donates his time to various charitable organizations outside of the kitchen, such as City Harvest, Share Our Strength, Autism Speaks, and the James Beard Foundation. He also serves on the Curriculum Advisory Committee at the French Culinary Institute and is an advisor to the Alaskan Seafood Marketing Institute and the Gohan Society.

RoadFish.com Praises Acura for Witty Super Bowl Commercial and Admires New NSX Model

roadfish.com

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 06, 2012

RoadFish.com men’s lifestyle and finance magazine commends Acura for their witty television commercial that aired during yesterday’s Super Bowl, advertising the new Acura NSX. RoadFish’s editor today described the advertisement as “hands-down the funniest commercial of this year’s Super Bowl,” and said they would pay big money to get their hands on one of the luxury supercars.

Acura announced in January its intention to run its first-ever Super Bowl commercial in an effort to resonate to the over 100 million viewers who tune in annually. Acura’s executive Vice President and creative director John Hage stated, “The goal is to present a commercial that not only clearly positions the NSX as the ultimate ‘must have’ sports car, but does it in a way that is memorable, entertaining and aligned with Acura’s brand position.”

The commercial depicts comedian and actual car enthusiast Jerry Seinfeld’s exaggerated efforts to become the first owner of an Acura NSX, bested just seconds before being handed the first set of car keys by fellow comedian and real-life car collector Jay Leno. The commercial has over 15.5 million hits on YouTube as of this morning, and the Wall Street Journal reported that searches for the Acura NSX were up 1,800%, topping any automobile search by far.

RoadFish.com’s editor is quoted saying, “I love Jerry. He has been such an integral part of all of our lives for so long. I love the fact that people can be funny without being mean. It also shows just how well a product can be sold and puts to shame lazy marketers who try to cut the corners without really putting in the time to do marketing right.”

Acura unveiled the new NSX Concept at the North American Auto Show on January 9th. The first NSX model was a 2-door coupe originally released in 1990 by Japanese automobile maker Honda, but production has been on pause since 2005 due to the economic downfall. The new car will feature a hybrid drivetrain, three electric motors, a V-6 engine, and an all-wheel-drive system.

RoadFish called the hybrid supercar “stunning” and praises the combination of economy-friendliness with luxury.

The new Acura NSX Concept is slated to start up mass production in 2015.

Global Organic Cotton Market Grows 20%, Hits $ 5.61 Billion in 2010, Textile Exchange Report Shows

Lubbock, TX (PRWEB) September 06, 2011

According to a report by Textile Exchange (formerly Organic Exchange) released today, neither the recession nor unstable economies put a damper on the fast-growing organic textiles industry which grew 20 percent to an estimated $ 5.61 billion in 2010.

According to the results of TE surveys and interviews used to develop the 2010 Global Market Report on Sustainable Textiles, the Top Ten organic cotton-using brands and retailers globally last year were: H&M (Sweden), C&A (Belgium), Nike, Inc. (Oregon, USA), Inditex (Zara) (Spain), adidas (Germany), Greensource (Washington, USA), Anvil (New York, USA), Target (Minnesota, USA), Disney Consumer Products (California, USA) and Otto Group (Germany).

“Consumers continue to be committed to supporting the use of organic cotton and other sustainable fibers, while brands and retailers continue to make their product lines more sustainable by continuing to increase their use of such fibers and safer, more innovative manufacturing processes,” said LaRhea Pepper, Textile Exchange managing director.

Several brands and retailers more than doubled their usage of organic cotton alone and plan to do so in 2012 as well. Others with large programs are staying the course. As a result, Textile Exchange projects the global organic cotton market will increase another 20 percent in 2011 to result in an estimated $ 6.2 billion market in 2011 and $ 7.4 billion market in 2012.

2010 was the first year that Textile Exchange requested data regarding industry use of sustainable fibers including recycled and cellulosic fiber. Two fibers, recycled polyester and Tencel® were the two leading fibers in terms of quantity reported by responding companies, with all respondents indicating substantial increases in use of those and other sustainable fibers in the upcoming years. The 2010 results will form the base line for next year’s report.

Key areas identified for collaborative work in the future include developing a harmonized definition of a sustainable or preferred textiles and equipping more players in the textile, apparel, and home furnishings industry to integrate sustainability into their business and product strategies through training, tools, and information.

Textile Exchange will host the 2011 Sustainable Textiles Conference in Barcelona, Spain September 18-20, 2011. Keynote speakers include David Asquith, David Cook, John Frazier, Patrick Hohmann, and Peter Waeber. Petty Holdings Adds Exotic Driving Experience: The Exotics Course at Walt Disney World Speedway® will be New Home to “Supercars”

Lamborghini Gallardo, available as part of the new Petty Holdings Exotic Driving Experience at Walt Disney World Speedway® Exotics Course.

Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) November 09, 2011

Combine some of the world’s finest automobiles with a track specifically designed for drivers to safely experience their awe-inspiring acceleration, speed and handling and you have “Exotic Driving Experience”, the latest offering from Petty Holdings.

Best known as owner and operator of Richard Petty Driving Experience, the worldwide leader in the stock car ride and drive business, Petty Holdings has applied its expertise in delivering safe, accessible, exciting automotive entertainment to develop an experience allowing anyone with a driver’s license the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a “supercar” – a rarified class of automobile.

Exotic Driving Experience will feature supercars by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, and Porsche. Future plans include the addition of other exotic models, as well.

It will officially begin on January 16, 2012.

“This exotics business is the most significant new offering from our company since the creation of Richard Petty Driving Experience in 1994” said Brian Flynn, Petty Holdings Chief Executive Officer. “This was a strategic decision intended to expand our customer base by diversifying our experiential offerings.”

Plans call for Exotic Driving Experience to operate approximately 150 days annually on The Exotics Course at Walt Disney World Speedway, a new track configuration (see below) at the motorsports complex located on the grounds of the world-famous theme park.

Driving Experiences will start at $ 199 for six laps around the circuit. Thrill Rides with a professional driver at the wheel will be available for $ 99.

The Exotics Course at Walt Disney World Speedway®

Built in 1994, the one-mile oval at Walt Disney World Speedway® has been home to Indy Racing League (IRL), NASCAR Truck series and United States Auto Club (USAC) sanctioned races. Since 2000, it has been operated year-round exclusively by Richard Petty Driving Experience, which has seen more than 250,000 people drive or ride in one of its NASCAR race cars.

Petty Holdings recently completed an interior road course-style section at the track, specifically for Exotic Driving Experience, which features a series of quick, challenging right and left-hand turns, known as “switch backs.” Complete with barriers and rumble strips, this section replaces the frontstretch of the oval when the supercars are on track and, together with the backstretch, comprises another one-mile layout which has been named The Exotics Course at Walt Disney World Speedway®.

“We needed a circuit that would allow customers to really get a sense of what these incredible cars are capable of” said Rick Fedrizzi, President and Chief Operating Officer, who designed the new interior section. “Drivers can rapidly accelerate to high speeds on the backstretch of the oval and, when they come into the interior section, feel the incredible braking and handling characteristics of whichever exotic they’ve selected.”

“It is an absolute blast to drive this course in any one of these cars,” Fedrizzi said.

Although Exotic Driving Experience officially begins after the new year, reservations for 2012 can be made at exoticdriving.com or by calling 855-822-0149.

About Petty Holdings:

Petty Holdings, LLC owns Richard Petty Driving Experience, the worldwide leader in NASCAR-style stock car drive and ride entertainment, which operated at 25 race tracks in the United States and Canada in 2011. It markets other Petty and Richard Petty branded and licensed ventures including Petty Safe Driving and Richard Petty’s Fantasy Racing Camp. It also provides motorsports support services to the commercial and film industries, mobile marketing event services and designs and executes ride and drive events for automobile manufacturers.
